Welcome to the Big Picture of the Doctrine of Christ

Author & Speaker

Ken F. Miller

Ken was born in 1950 as the eldest son of Dan and Winnie Miller of Florence, Alabama. His brother, Larry, still lives in Florence and his sister, Jan lives in Fairhope, Alabama. All three were brought up in a loving, family centered, and God-fearing family life.

He was guided, trained, urged, and brought up in the Southern Baptist Denomination to become a pastor and was encouraged by his parents, Grandparents, Great Grandmother, the Church and State Convention.

After High School Graduation he had plans to enroll into Seminary but ended up getting married instead. As God would have it, his wife, being a Disciple of Christ in the Church of Christ, showed him the difference between Denominational and Scriptural Doctrines. This led Ken to becoming a Disciple of Christ and from 1970-1977 he went to Seminary and preached throughout South Alabama.

Welcome to THE BIG PICTURE OF THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST

Why this book and ministry?

The Holy Spirit has been working in my heart and life for over 30 years in developing my book, Understanding the Doctrine of Christ (according to Hebrews 5:12-14 & Hebrews 6:1-20) due out in August 2025, as well as, developing a ministry for teaching the Word of God (Bible) by way of a website and in home study group. During this time, I have been involved in many discussions concerning the Bible, and when I looked at my notes, I started to see a pattern of how people viewed not only the Bible but what God said in it as well.

How it all started

I was raised by Christian parents in the Southern Baptist Denomination from childbirth. For twenty years I never questioned anything about what my parents taught me, what the church taught me, or the State Baptist Convention said, until ... While I was a summer camp counselor for the Baptist Convention part of my responsibilities was to “lead the boys to God” through Bible study and explaining the scriptures on their level of understanding. All I had was my Bible, a Bible Concordance (which I still use) and a set of Matthew Henry commentaries of the New Testament.

“The Doctrine of Christ” vs “The Gospel of Christ”

As I said in my book, Understanding the Doctrine of Christ.

“The Doctrine of Christ” is the “heart and soul” of Christianity, it tells us the “what and why” of what we must do for us to have Eternal Life.

“The Gospel of Christ” is the heart and soul of the “who, what, when and where” of how we are to teach the Word of God to an unsaved world (concerning Salvation).

GOSPEL of CHRIST

The Gospel of Christ is based on the “Great Commission”. There are many people who would argue that Matthew 28:19-20 is the only scripture that gives us the Great Commission. However, this is only a “snapshot” of it, and we must take into consideration the other two scriptures (Mark 16:14-16 and Luke 24:36-53) to get the “Big Picture” of what Jesus wanted us to understand and do.  (The primary reason for using only one scripture is so it would fit better with Denominational Doctrine. This is another example of how man has twisted God’s Word to fit his own religious beliefs.) When you look at all three (3) passages the full message of the “Great Commission” goes like this. In no way have I changed any wording, nor have I added to or took away any words from the scripture. All I have done is rearranged the verses so that we can see a smooth conversation between Jesus and the Disciples.

DOCTRINE OF CHRIST

Doctrine of Christ: – Six Major Points – Hebrews 6:1-3 (KJV)

1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance

From dead works, and of faith toward God,
2  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of
resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

3  And this will we do, if God permit.

I have created an up-front, concise lesson plan that mirrors scripture, this is not an interpretation of scripture, and I want to remind the reader that no study guide is a good substitute for studying the Bible, chewing over the word with a fellow Christian, and praying to God for discernment.  There are no substitutes for a relationship with Jesus Christ; only one Testament exists. Should you (and you will) find yourself disagreeing with something in this study the first place to go is Jesus, in prayer, asking for understanding and guidance from the Holy Spirit. The sole purpose of this study is to (1) remove the disillusion of what current-day man wants the Bible to mean and (2) be as a guide to teach the Doctrine of Christ as God originally intended it according to scripture which will automatically guide us into “Being perfect in Christ”.

We will be creating a “Big Picture” of what God expects us to do in Laying a Foundation for Perfection in Christ by Building a strong Christian Character that will over come Indoctrination.

THE BIG PICTURE” OF GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION

Jim Wallis said this.
“When you start with the wrong question, no matter how good an answer you get, it won’t matter much.
The correct question is simple “What is Believing Faith? That leads to Salvation.” Let’s look at these scriptures and put a “Big Picture” together.
